Prof. Natia Kekenadze

Natia Kekenadze is an Assistant Professor at the International Black Sea University (IBSU), where she teaches Sociology and Sociological Research Methods.  Within the SCIEN team, she serves as a Senior Researcher and is actively involved in various international research projects.

Her research focuses on citizen participation and spatial justice, with particular attention to spatial inequalities affecting minority groups, women, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and underrepresented communities. She is especially interested in how participatory practices and evidence-based planning approaches can contribute to more inclusive, equitable, and resilient urban and rural environments. Natia has led and facilitated stakeholder engagement processes, including participatory workshops and policy-oriented research in cities and regions across Georgia.
