Joseph Salukvadze is a Professor at Tbilisi State University's Department of Human Geography and a Visiting Professor at the Technical University of Munich. He has held prestigious fellowships at the universities of Stockholm and Lund as a Swedish Institute Research Fellow, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Fulbright Scholar.
He served as Vice-Rector of TSU from 2014 to 2017 and as Vice-President of the Geographic Society of Georgia from 2008 to 2016. As a land policy specialist, he collaborates with major international organizations, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UN-Habitat, FAO, KfW, GIZ, and USAID. He is a member of the editorial boards of three international scientific journals, the author and editor of three books, and has over fifty publications to his name. His research interests span urban studies, housing and land policy, and sustainable mountain development.
