Tracing the link between Climate Justice Action and the NDCs in Georgia

ndcTracker is a research project tracing the link between climate justice action and Georgia's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. The study examined how Georgia's international climate commitments are translated into national and subnational policies, assessed the localization of NDC targets at the municipal level, and investigated the social justice dimensions of renewable energy deployment. Employing a mixed-methods design, which included in-depth interviews, an online survey, systematic policy document analysis, and case studies in the Telavi municipality, the project generated evidence-based findings and recommendations for strengthening climate governance, enhancing stakeholder participation, and expanding the role of local self-governments in Georgia's climate action.

The project was funded through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and commissioned by BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany).
